Two Weeks Old Already!

Well the puppies are officially TWO WEEKS old today!
They have been growing well, and weigh 2.4 pounds (roughly) each. They had their nails clipped yesterday, and their de-wormer today.Almost all of the puppies' eyes are open now. We tried to do a photo-shoot today, but they just wanted to snuggle up with each other. A circle of puppies was impossible. The neighbourhood children visits have officially started. Sometimes there are up to 10 children a day here to snuggle the pups. They are getting lots of love.Nicolaas snuggling our only male puppy.A little tiny paw in the hand of a 4 year old...

Laundry Anyone?

It was such a beautiful day today. So while the puppie's 'home' was being cleaned, they were able to enjoy some sunshine. They all fit perfectly in the laundry basket, making it easier to transfer them all at once.Poor little ones had their dewclaws clipped off today too. Dennis clipped them while I held them. They did really well. Only our one little male had a hard time clotting on the one leg. After a little while of holding pressure he was just fine. He sure is a calm little guy. He loves to snuggle.I will be naming them different colours to keep them apart when they are chosen by someone. Then they will get their proper name once they are adopted.If you have your eye on one of these, then let me know and I will put on their coloured ribbon to know which one is yours. There will be a non-refundable deposit fee of $150.00 to secure the puppy that you choose. The balance will be due on pick-up of your puppy. A copy of the 30 month guarantee agreement will be emailed or mailed out to those who are interested, and will be signed when paying the deposit.

Puppies For Sale!

Tierra once again had beautiful, healthy puppies. This is her third litter, and also her smallest. Her first two litters were 10 pups each time. All of these adorable, CKC registered, pure-bred puppies are For Sale. The puppies will be well socialized with children .Basic paper training is attempted and will be bathed once a week when a little older.Each Puppy will be sold for $600.00, are CKC registered, micro-chipped, de-wormed, have their first vaccination, are health checked by the vet, and dewclaws are removed.(The dewclaws are the tiny claw up the foreleg. It usually is removed to prevent it from getting snagged in the bush while the dog is hunting.)
The puppies come with a 30 month written guarantee covering hips, elbows, and eyes and a 12 month guarantee covering other genetic disorders. All puppies are sold on a CKC nonbreeding agreement. If you wish to breed your puppy in the future this contract can be removed once the puppy is over 2 years of age and has obtained OFA hips clearance and CERF eye exam of normal. This is to ensure that genetically unsound dogs are not bred. The only additional charge is the fee payable to the CKC for reversing this original contract.The puppies were born September 10th, and will be ready for their new homes by Wednesday October 29th. We like the puppies to be 7 weeks old before they are ready to leave their Mom. Please keep checking the blog for updated pictures of the puppy you have your eye on. Tierra is a purebred Chocolate Labrador Retriever, born February 4, 2001. She is the daughter of Max's Monster Mauler DG and International Cocoa Bear (USA). She is very gentle with children, and still is playful as a puppy. She makes a wonderful family pet, and our children love her. She is calm, but does get a little excited to 'meet' other dogs. She is a quick learner, and loves to play fetch. Her most favourite past time is to swim in the lakes and retrieve her toys. Her puppies will make wonderful pets.

Tierra's Big Day

The puppies have arrived!! On September 10, 2008, Tierra was once again the proud Momma of 8 new puppies. 7 females and 1 lonely male! Tierra was a couple of days early. Wednesday morning Dennis went outside to feed her, and found Tierra and 6 squeaky puppies under our deck. Much to her dismay, she was moved to the garage and she had 2 more by mid afternoon. Her labour went very well, and the puppies are all healthy. The puppies three days old already...
